So starting off this week, I didn't think that we were going to do anything for Thanksgiving. HOWEVER, after I wrote Monday I got a call from Sister Fischbeck and she told us that President and Sister Laney had invited us to eat Thanksgiving lunch with them. #officebenefits. And it was SO GOOD! It was by far the best Thanksgiving I had in the mission. There was turkey, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, green bean casserole, corn, stuffing, broccoli salad, and a berry jello. So, I stuffed myself until my stomach started to hurt and was super content and happy. Then they said that we were going to eat dessert. Yeah, I was like "Oh no", haha. There was chocolate silk pie, cheesecake pie, pumpkin pie, and a berry cobbler. So, I somehow ate one piece of the chocolate silk pie and was literally DYING! My stomach hurt so much that I couldn't stand up for about 20 mins, haha. But the food was so good...and gringo that I couldn't resist, haha. But it was really awesome being able to spend time with the Laney's, Fischbecks (the other secretaries), MiGinnis's (Bogota South Secretaries), and the Hackings (The ex-ex-president of our mission). And my camera was dead, so I have to steal the pics from my comp.
But other than that, this week has been pretty boring. We have been contacting and have been finding A TON of atheists. It's honestly sad to ask someone if they believe in Jesus Christ and they say "no". I always ask them "what happened?" and they usually say that they need tangible proof of His existence. Like when people from other religions tell us that they believe in Christ, I always congratulate them and tell them that it is super chevere that they do. I mean, I'm still going to invite them to come unto Christ and be baptized in His restored church, but at least they believe in Jesus Christ. We haven't gotten into dangerous situations this week, so that's a plus :) However, I was informed by a member about a few things that are happening in the world and I am completely shocked and saddened to see just how quickly the world is destroying itself. But it does 100% confirm my testimony that these are the last days and that Christ's Second Coming is very soon. I love this gospel and I know that if we apply it's principles in our lives and try everyday to become a better person and grow closer to God and His Son, we have no reason to fear for when that day comes. I love you all so much! Talk to you guys next week!
