So, I got to my area on Tuesday night at about 8 PM. We tried to get a taxi for 45 mins at the chapel and were the last ones to finally leave. My area is Villa Maria in the Suba Zone. My apartment was the nastiest thing on the planet. I moved apartment on Saturday. But there were 4 of us in the old one. Only one bathroom worked and when the shower was on, the sink would run and vice versa. I don't know how to explain how gross it was. I'm pretty sure the missionaries hadn't cleaned it for months. But our new one just has me and my comp. Oh yeah, my companion is Elder Antivero from Argentina. But our new apartment is clean and both bathrooms work! We don't have a fridge, stove, or washer yet but hopefully we get those soon. It's crazy how much a nice place can change moral.
These past 7 days have been the hardest in my life though. Since my Spanish is only pretty good, lessons and figuring out what the heck is going on is pretty difficult. Plus, my comps accent makes it pretty difficult to even understand him. It's pretty hard to go days without being able to know exactly what is happening. I've felt pretty alone at nights but usually a letter, prayer, or a song fixes that right up. We only had 7 lessons this week. A lot of people are flaking on us which means that we just walk a ton trying to figure out what to do.
OH! I forgot to talk about the taxi ride to the apartment. Mom would have had a heart attack! So, apparently the driving laws here are only suggestions to people. We drove on the wrong side of the traffic about 4 times with other cars coming the other way. But don't worry, he had his hazards on, so its all good. They also drive so close to people and stop so close to people. The drive was about 25 mins of terror haha. Well I have to go now, but that was pretty much it. I'm so sorry for those who I didn't have a chance to write! Thank you all for all of your love and support, it really helps a lot!
