Hey Everyone!
ONLY 3 MORE DAYS! I cant wait to get out of here and start helping real people! So since the last time I emailed, I have gone proselyting twice and gone to the temple twice. Oh and it has been Spanish all the time during these 2 Latino weeks. My companion is Elder Garcia from Venezuela. He is 19, has been a member for about 2 years and is the only member in his family. We went proselyting right outside the CCM for an hour with our old companions last Wednesday because the Latinos were having a meeting. We talked to these 2 people for about 25 mins and got there info at the end. They were super nice and were really nice about our limited Spanish. We talked a ton about Colombia and their life and then fit in the gospel at the end for a few minutes. They were the only people that would talk to us.
Then this past Wednesday, we went to the temple. It was an amazing experience because I prayed about if I am supposed to be here at this time in my life or if I need to get a better testimony and knowledge of the gospel. I have just been over thinking my abilities because in 4 days I will be talking to real people. Plus, its frustrating when you can't communicate with people the way you want or understand them. I want to help them but I can't even talk to them. But I received a strong confirmation that this is the time that the Lord needs me on his team in the mission field and that I may not be able to communicate with people in Spanish, but that's okay because its the Spirit that teaches and touches people hearts, not my words. It was truly a tender mercy. I mean, I knew this before but when you get stressed out its hard to think straight.
We then went proselyting with our new Latino companions. We got 13 contacts but I probably only talked to 3 and a sentence or two each. It was super frustrating because I wanted to help. I wanted to share what I knew. But I think my companion thinks I don't know what I'm doing because I cant speak that well. But then I just had to think that 13 people will get another opportunity to hear the gospel and that in time, with the help from the Lord, I will be able to talk to people and actually help. Oh and it rained on us for about 25 mins. But good news, I found out that my bag is waterproof!. Then we went to the temple again today and it was great!! My brain has been fried for the last 10 days with all of the constant translating 24-7. Especially because my companion doesn't know any English. I taught him a little bit of English though, which is apparently a requirement in his mission, which is Barcelona Venezuela. Okay, hopefully this made sense. I had to frantically type because I'm out of time. Love you all! I'm so sorry if I do not respond to you! I am trying my best to respond to everyone!
