Saturday is a special day, it's the day I get to write home! I hope you guys got my cleverness there, ha ha. But really, my comp and I have changed our P-day to Saturday for now. We are going to try it out for awhile and if it is working better for us, we are going to keep it. If not, we are going to change it back to Monday.
Just to clarify the story from last email...we felt that the men that walked up to us were going to rob us so that is why we ran. There hasn't been too much that has happened this week. Except 3 people in the office got sick and I was freaking out that I was going to be next! But I didn't get sick, so we are all good.
This week, I have been fighting with una empresa de envíos (sending company?) which is called 4-72. They messed up bad on the value declared of a package of an Elder here. That doesn't sound bad but they raised the value 150 USD so it was at 200 USD, which means he had to pay 181.000 pesos to get it out of customs, when it should have been at least 100.000 pesos less. Anyway, I ended up having a 52 min conversation with them and they finally said that they will look into it. So we will see what happens. There have been A TON of sick missionaries lately! There are some that are very serious and it's sad. The Acosta Family is doing great still! Oh yeah, we had lunch with them on Thursday and guess what I ate.....lengua de vaca. Yep, I ate me some cow tongue. It really didn't taste bad, just like really soft meat. But, cutting it up and thinking about how it is a muscle and not really meat, I got grossed out. And my tongue was the biggest! I swear it must have been a HUGE, FAT cow, ha ha. But now, if someone asks me if I have eaten cow tongue I can say, yes I have. Anyway, the family is doing great! We are now teaching one of the sons girlfriends, Xiomara, and she is very interested as well! They are just living together so they will have to get married first. We also had a worldwide transmission for all of the missionaries on Wednesday and it was awesome. It focused on repentance and baptism. I took a lot of notes, and we got to watch it in English which was cool! I love this gospel and I know that it is true. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ, the only true church on the face of the earth. I know this because I have prayed to God and have asked Him, and He answered me. I know that God lives and that our Savior, Jesus Christ lives as well. I love being a missionary and helping people know the true gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing how the gospel changes their lives. Thank you so much for all of your love and support! Talk to you guys next week!
