HOLA!
So this week has had its ups and downs. General Conference was amazing and I think it was so cool how some talks were in the native language of the speaker! So a little more info about my last house, the other Elders still live there and we have to do wash over there cuz we don't have a washer, oven, or fridge still. In their kitchen I counted 115 little flies on the ceiling and on the cupboards. There were more than 115 but I decided to stop there. Luckily there are no flies in our new house haha. It has rained pretty much everyday but for only about 40 mins but very hard. And it actually gets pretty cold in Bogota, and at nights it gets really cold.
I got my package on Saturday night because we spent the night at our Zone Leaders house because instead of a 40 min walk its only 10 min walk for Conference the next day. I was supposed to get it on Wednesday but they wanted me to open it really bad so I was like...okay. I was so excited for it and I loved it!! You packed so much stuff into it! And no I didn't have to pay taxes for receiving it. The razor is a life savor and my razor burn is basically nothing now...THANK YOU SO MUCH!
The members here are super nice and the people in the streets are for the most part kind and will talk to us. Most of them believe in God because most of the population is Catholic or Christian. However, almost every appointment we have had has not been completed. Somehow we make an appointment and then when we show up, no one is home or they are too busy. Now really, how hard is it to just call us if you don't want to meet? Actually, it has been pretty hard since we finally got a cell phone on Friday. But anyway, we usually go to the appointment, and if they aren't there, we go to our plan B, and then if they aren't there we either walk to other people houses or call everyone until someone lets us come. But sometimes no one is available so we walk around and contact or go to Juan Carlos' house. He is awesome because he usually goes with us to lessons or walks with us to try and figure out what to do. And then On Sunday after the Morning Conference, we called our only investigator, Faneri to see if she will go to the next session and why she couldn't make it to this session. She told us that she doesn't want us to visit her anymore and then the reception was lost. We text and called her but she didn't answer. So we are somehow going to try to meet with her one more time to find out what's wrong and if we can help. Oh and her house doesn't have a doorbell. And we cant knock on the door because of the way houses are arranged here and where she lives, it doesn't work. Anyway, I have to get off now. But thank you all for your emails and support and prayers. I'm so sorry that I cant answer all of your emails, but I am trying my best to! Love and miss you all!
