I don't remember what I wrote last week so hopefully I don't repeat some stuff. Anyway, Colombia celebrated 50 years of the church here on May 11th. All of the missionaries in Cúcuta went to a park, sang a few hymns, had an opening and closing prayer, read the dedicatory prayer from 50 years ago, and then went around and cleaned the park. Me dio pena (Don't remember how to say that) at first to sing hymns randomly in the middle of the park, but it turned out to be really awesome and we were basically preaching in song. The songs we sang were "Hark all ye nations", "Sirvamos unidas" (but changed the words a little, ha ha), and "Now let us rejoice" (it's "ya regocijemos" in Spanish). But it was a really cool experience. We also had stake conference this weekend and President and Sister Laney came. It was great to see then again. Elder Godoy from Perú and of the 70 came and presided. It was an awesome conference! I'm now really bummed that I didn't really go to stake conference at home. But don't worry, I've repented :)
My companion and I are getting along better and that is helping a lot. We were able to find a new family thanks to the open house at the chapel. A member invited them and we are now teaching them. We have another appointment with them tomorrow. We also have a baptism planned for May 28 for Julio Buitrago. He is great and is the father of a family where all are members. We are only missing a few points to teach him and then he will be ready. Oh and I found out that Mothers day here isn't the 4th Sunday of May but the last Sunday of May here in Cúcuta. So, it will be on May 29. I love this gospel and I know it is true. I love you all and thank you for your support!
